AI and Confidentiality
This page centralizes JII's policy for AI usage and confidentiality.
What AI is not used for
- No generative AI is used in the production translation step.
What AI may be used for
- AI may be used for support tasks such as internal checks or terminology maintenance.
- In these support tasks, data is not used for training and is not sent to third parties.
- Highly sensitive assignments can be run with no AI use.
Confidentiality controls
- Access to non-public information is limited to required personnel.
- For each assignment, we define scope, purpose, and responsible parties.
NDA workflow
- When needed, we sign an NDA before receiving materials (our template or yours).
Data retention
- Default retention is 90 days after delivery. Non-public information is used only for assignment delivery.

Q. Do you always use AI?
No. We do not use generative AI in production translation, and highly sensitive assignments can be run with no AI use.
Q. Do we need to send files before NDA?
No. You can share materials after NDA signing when required.
